Deeper In the Word – 9/10/12 – Hebrews 3:13
Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
1) Encourage – Greek word is parakaleó meaning: To make a call to someone from being close-up and personal.
2) Hardened – Greek word is sklérunó meaning: To become inflexible, dried out, obstinately stubborn
3) Deceitfulness – Greek word is apaté meaning: A false impression, made to deceive or cheat
The community and fellowship of one believer to another is so important. We are supposed to encourage one another every single day, personally face to face. If we don’t we are at risk of being slowly worn out by the false allure of sin. Staying in the encouragement of fellow Christians spurs us on to walk free from sin and close to God.
