Praying Daily for the Elections – Day 17 – 10/04/2012

Fifty Days of Prayer for the National Election 2012 – Day 17
Day 17 October 4th
The Lord is known by the judgments He executes; the wicked is snared in the works of his own hand. Ps 9:16
Today’s Focus: Candidate Barack Obama’s Religious Influences (tomorrow will be Mitt Romney’s)
President Obama has been extremely tolerant of Islam – which is the worship of a false god, Allah. He calls the Qur’an, “holy.” He has spoken of his deep appreciation of the Islamic faith of which “the world owes its debt for carrying the light of learning to western civilization.” He has mentioned on various occasions that “America is not a Christian nation.” The President’s openness to and promotion of Islam has given credence to a religion that keeps millions of people in demonic bondage. The LORD has spoken: Do not set up any wooden Asherah pole beside the altar you build to the LORD your God. This is what you are to do to them: Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire. (Deut. 16: 21; 7:5) We ask God’s forgiveness on behalf of our nation.
Muslims believe that the revelation of Islam was given to Mohammed, who is revered by Muslims as “the great prophet.” Mohammed is not just a name to Muslims; it is a title which means The Praised One. This man is revered by all Muslims as the last and greatest prophet. (Muslims believe that Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus were also prophets of Islam.) Mohammed is considered “the ideal man.” Mohammed is in no way considered divine, nor is he worshipped; however, he is the model for all Muslims concerning how they should conduct themselves.
Allah, far from being the biblical God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, was actually the pre-Islamic pagan moon-god. Indeed, it is an established archaeological fact that worship of the moon-god was the main religion of the ancient Middle East. For generations before Mohammed was born, the Arabs worshipped some 360 pagan gods housed at a stone temple in Mecca called the Kaaba. According to archaeologists, the chief deity of Mecca was the moon-god called al-ilah (meaning the god or the idol), which was shortened to Allah in pre-Islamic times. Pagan Arabs even used Allah in the names they gave themselves: Mohammed’s father (Abdallah), for example, had Allah as part of his name. The ancient symbol of the pagan moon-god, the crescent moon, is the official symbol of Islam; it appears on the flags of Muslim countries, as well as on the tops of mosques and minarets everywhere.
The Qur’an (Koran) states unequivocally that Allah is an unknowable and non-personal deity. By contrast, God of the Bible allows Himself to be known and desires fellowship with human beings on a personal basis. Indeed, the Bible says that Abraham (the same Abraham whom Muslims say they venerate) was the “friend of God.” The Koran portrays Allah as a vindictive deity who hates sinners and desires to afflict them. But the Bible reveals that God is loving and compassionate, slow to anger; His character is mercy.
The Islamic faith is lived out according to five “pillars” that must be adhered to if one is to hope for salvation (it is not a guarantee of salvation). Islam is a religion based on works. Most Muslims believe that their deeds are recorded in the Book. On the fearful Day of Judgment, Allah will open the Book and will weigh each person’s deeds on a balance to determine whether he will spend eternity in heaven or hell. Muslims hope their good deeds will outweigh their bad. However, since Allah is seen beyond any constraint, capricious, and as absolutely sovereign, he reserves the right to send each individual to any destination he pleases.
Many Christians do not know that Muslims regard “Jesus, Son of Mary” as a prophet who plays an instrumental role in Islamic eschatology. In fact, there are tremendous similarities in Islamic end time prophecies and those of Christians, but they are polar opposites. There are four holy books for the Muslims. The Qur’an: the first and most sacred book of Islam as written by Mohammad as given by Allah; to Muslims, it is the literal word of Allah and is broken down into chapters called Sura. The Sunna is the written account of what Mohammad said, did, condoned or condemned, giving Muslims the “perfect” example for living life. It is divided into two types of literature – the Hadith and the Sirat or Sirah. The Hadith is the specific recording of Mohammad’s sayings. The Sirat or Sirah is the biography of Mohammad. The basis of Islamic eschatology is found in the Qur’an’s Sura 2:177, “It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets.” There are, therefore, five basic tenets of Islamic belief: Allah, the Last Day, Angels, the Qur’an, and the prophets. Unlike Christianity, where eschatology is rarely taught, Islam is very specific about its followers understanding what Mohammad believed about the end times. Central to the Islamic end time prophecies is the 12th Imam or the Mahdi. This is Islam’s “Lord of the Age” and “Awaited Savior.” Amazingly, the Mahdi is strikingly similar to Christianity’s Beast or Antichrist.
Some of the many similarities include: ruling the world spiritually, politically and economically for seven years; Muslims identify the Mahdi as the rider of the white horse in Revelation 6:1-2; the Mahdi will war against the saints and Israel; the Mahdi declares himself the most high; the Mahdi agrees to a seven year peace treaty with the Jews; the Mahdi seeks to change the times and the laws as prophesied in Daniel 7:23 by moving worship to Fridays and establishing Sharia Law.
From an eschatological standpoint, the Islamic Jesus is very similar to the Christian false prophet as found in Revelation 13. The false prophet “causes the earth and those who dwell therein to worship the first beast,” “deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles,” and, among other things, “cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” The false prophet establishes the one world religion and enforces the war against the saints, even to beheading them as found in Revelation 20:4 “… And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus.” The Islamic version of Jesus also performs miracles. (Sura 3.049) The Islamic Jesus also enforces Sharia Law upon all the unbelievers. (Sura 2.050) The Islamic Jesus will persecute and kill those who are not Muslim. (Sura 3.050-55) The similarities between the Muslim Jesus and the false prophet of Revelation are undeniable. Both will perform miracles, cause people to worship the Mahdi or the antichrist, establish the one world religion and force people to worship the Mahdi or the antichrist, will behead those who do not worship as instructed, and will enforce the religious law of the time.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:4 when asked about the end times, “Take heed that no man deceive you.”
As intercessors, we recognize that Islam is a powerful and destructive stronghold. We must employ mighty spiritual weapons to restrain the work of Satan in advancing this false religion in America, in our Capitol, and in the White House. Jesus came to destroy (to annul, do away with, deprive of authority) the devil’s work. Jesus came to destroy Satan’s power, deprive him of all authority, and neutralize his influence. As Christ’s representatives, we are to enforce this defeat through prevailing, warring prayer. Christ has delegated to us the authority to use spiritual weapons on His behalf. We are to continue Christ’s restraining, neutralizing, and destroying of Satan’s works for Jesus’ sake and by His appointment. Skill in using the mighty weapon of prevailing prayer will make our warfare feared in hell. Employ: a) the name of Jesus; b) the blood of Jesus; c) the Word of God; d) prayer and the command of faith; and e) the word of praise.
These powerful demonic strongholds also require a united attack. Through the Holy Spirit, through the multitude of God’s angels, and through God’s dedicated army of intercessors, we join Him in binding Satan and all his forces in their plan to distort the true and saving message of the Gospel.
Warfare Prayer
Almighty and Most Merciful God,
We know that You desire truth in the inner being and facing this truth is the way of liberation. (John 8:32) We acknowledge that our President and many in our government have been deceived by the father of lies (1 John 8: 44) and that we deceive ourselves (1 John 1:8). We are at war. Humbly, reverently and boldly, we claim Your promises: “There is nothing too hard for You;” “faith is the victory;” in the Name of Jesus we have the victory;” “there is power in the blood.” You seek people to prevail, to triumph in prayer, to move the world toward righteousness and the people of the world toward salvation. And since by faith we have received You into our lives, we are now seated with Christ in the heavenlies. (Eph. 2:6) Jesus has delegated to us the authority to act on His behalf, to restrain Satan’s activities in many significant ways. We bind and restrain his demon cohorts, back them off from the places they claim for Satan, and help Your Holy Spirit set Satan’s captives free.
We pray in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by virtue of His shed blood and resurrection, asking You to rebuke all deceiving spirits which afflict and hold captive the leaders of our nation and to command all deceiving spirits to depart from the White House and official offices of the Administration.
You have said that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry. (1 Sam 15:23) We know that in the actions, attitudes, and words of President Obama and those who serve with him, that they have sinned against You with a rebellious heart. May they repent and seek Your forgiveness for their rebellion. We pray that by the shed blood of Jesus, all ground gained by the enemy and his minions because of our leaders’ rebelliousness would be cancelled. We pray that You would shed light on all our nation’s ways that we may know the full extent of our rebelliousness and would choose to adopt a submissive spirit and a slave’s heart. We have been bought with a price. We were purchased with a preciousness and paid for by Christ. Keep us from becoming the slaves of men; rather, may we consider ourselves slaves to Christ. (1 Cor. 7: 23)
You have said that pride goes before destruction and an arrogant spirit before stumbling. (Prov. 16:18). Because of our nation’s disregard for Your authority, as represented by the leaders of our nation, we have given ground to the enemy. Our leaders have believed that they could be successful and live victorious lives by their own strength and resources. They have placed their will before Yours. May President Obama and his administration renounce self-centeredness and embrace Your Kingdom agenda. We pray that You will guide President Obama so that he will do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but that with humility of mind, he will regard others more important than himself. (Phil 2:3) Enable him to serve others and in honor prefer others. (Rom. 12:10)
We ask You to break all bondages that Satan has brought into his life through idolatry (placing false gods ahead of You). Satan is a thief, and he comes to steal, kill and destroy. We pray that President Obama will choose life in Christ, Who said He came to give life and give it abundantly. We pray President Obama and Vice President Biden will renounce their position on abortion, the taking of life of the unborn.
We ask You to break all bondages and woundedness that Satan has brought into Barack’s life through his parents’ abandonment. May he reject and disown all the sins of his ancestors. We pray he will be delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. By Your Spirit would you cancel all demonic working that may have been passed on from generation to generation in his extended family. We renounce all demonic assignments that are directed against this President who represents the seat of power of our government. We ask You to cancel every curse Satan and his demonic workers have placed on the President. We ask You to announce to Satan and all his forces that Jesus Christ became a curse for each person in this administration (and every citizen of this nation) when He died on the cross for our sins. (Gal 3:13) We belong to the Lord Jesus Christ Who purchased us with His own blood. We declare ourselves to be eternally and completely signed over to and committed to Jesus. By the authority that we have in Christ Jesus, we ask You to command the familiar spirits who serve as enemies of the Lord to depart from our nation’s Capitol.
This is what the LORD says: “Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.” (Ex. 8: 1) What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to Him? (Deut. 4: 7) And what do You, the LORD our God, ask of us but to fear You, to walk in all Your ways, to love You, to serve You with all our hearts and with all our souls. (Deut 10: 12) Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, we are thankful and worship You, acceptably with reverence and awe. (Heb. 12: 28) May we draw near to You with sincere hearts in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (Heb. 10: 22) We pray that Barack Obama will stand down and will embrace the principles of religious freedom acknowledged in our founding documents and will provide opportunities for hearts and minds to be exposed to and receptive to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. To You alone we ascribe all honor, glory, and praise. Amen.
“Were a man impressed as fully and strongly as he ought to be with the belief of a God, his moral life would be regulated by the force of belief; he would stand in awe of God.” (Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason, 1795)
“We are a Christian people…according to each other the equal right of religious freedom, and acknowledge with reverence the duty of obedience to the will of God.” (The Supreme Court in United States vs. McIntosh, 1931)
